Notes on this year’s contest

The origins of the Pacific Festival of Brass are intriguing. What started as an idea to host the event in one of New Zealand’s largest communities of Pacific peoples has blossomed into an occasion that not only recognises the increasing Pasifika involvement in the nation’s brass scene but also aims to expand and introduce our unique musical traditions to audiences less familiar with brass banding.

This year, we're thrilled to welcome bands from every corner of New Zealand, alongside participants hailing from across the Pacific, spanning from Australia to Tonga and even Japan, making this event truly pan-Pacific. We eagerly anticipate sharing the vibrant spirit of South Auckland with all our visitors, showcasing our diverse cultures, delectable cuisine, and captivating songs and dances. Nau mai, haere mai, Auckland awaits you with open arms.

Our website will undergo continuous updates and changes leading up to July, ensuring current and relevant information for participants and attendees.
